ANNA JAFFE
Partner-Executive Producer-Director of Business Development

Anna is an award-winning reporter and producer. In 2004, she launched Curious Eye Productions with Mike Horine. She serves as Curious Eye’s executive producer, director of business development and production manager.

As part of Curious Eye, Anna’s had the privilege of working with a who’s who of network news organizations and businesses, including NBC, ABC, MSNBC, CBS, CNN, The Weather Channel, Associated Press Television, FOX Sports 1, NFL Network, CBS Sports, H&R Block, HCA Midwest, Siemens Corporation, L’Oreal USA, ADT and General Mills, among others.

While Anna loves the organizational aspect of the business, she also has great creative chops. She handles the development of still and motion graphics for projects. She’s also a talented writer who’s able to take complicated subjects and turn them into compelling, understandable copy.

Early in her career, Anna worked in broadcast news and print journalism covering everything from Middle East politics to health care. She’s received the American City Business Journals Eagle Award for Reporting, Brandeis University’s Gralla Journalism Fellowship, multiple awards from the Kansas Association of Broadcasters and recognition from the International Association of Business Communicators. She has a Master’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas.

MIKE HORINE
Partner-Director of Photographyess Development

Mike is an award-winning photographer with more than 30 years of experience. In 2004, he launched Curious Eye Productions with Anna Jaffe. He serves as Curious Eye’s director of photography, chief editor and technical advisor.

Mike is an expert in visual storytelling. Whether he’s shooting or editing, he has an innate ability to look at subjects from a unique perspective. He came up with the name Curious Eye. It’s not surprising because it describes his way of looking at the world through the lens of the camera.

Over the years, Mike has shot for all of the major broadcast and cable news networks and covered everything from NFL football to national politics. His work has appeared on CBS Sunday Morning, CBS Evening News, The Today Show, PBS News Hour, Good Morning America, NBC Nightly News, The Weather Channel, Discovery Channel, Telemundo, Univision, ESPN, NFL Network and FOX Sports 1, among others.

Mike’s received numerous awards from United Press International, the Associated Press, the Missouri Association of Broadcasters, the Kansas Association of Broadcasters and the International Association of Business Communicators. He’s also a recipient of Emmy awards for news photography. Mike has a Master’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas.

JEFF ROBERTS
Chief Photographer-Director of Aerial Services

Jeff is Curious Eye’s chief photographer and director of aerial services. He’s not only a highly respected, award-winning photographer with more than 30 years of experience in broadcast news and commercial photography, but he’s also an RC enthusiast who’s been flying UAVs for more than 15 years. He became part of the team in 2014 to – among other things – launch Curious Eye’s aerial photography unit.

You’ll find Jeff capturing more than just aerials. From the ground, he handles a variety of news, sports and corporate shoots for Curious Eye. He’s also our still photography guru. His video has aired on ESPN, ABC News, CBS News, Good Morning America, 20/20, FOX Sports 1, NFL Network and NBC News Channel. In the corporate arena, he’s worked with a wide variety of clients, including the Heavy Constructors Association, Jay Nixon for Missouri Governor Campaign, Mike Sharp for Jackson County Sheriff Campaign, DST Systems, Pyramid Contractors, The University of Kansas Medical Center and The Greater Kansas City Building Trades.

Before joining Curious Eye, Jeff worked as a news photographer for the ABC affiliate in Kansas City for close to 30 years. He also served on the boards of the National Press Photographers Association and SAG-AFTRA.

SYLVIA STUCKY
Office Manager

As Curious Eye’s office manager, Sylvia is the glue that holds everything together. She joined Curious Eye in 2013 and has kept the back office operations running smoothly ever since.

Before Curious Eye, Sylvia spent 27 years with the Kansas City office of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. For close to 10 of those years, she served as the assistant executive director of the AFTRA office, which later became the Missouri Valley Local of SAG/AFTRA.

Sylvia started her career in radio and television. She worked in a variety of capacities, including as weather anchor for a Topeka TV station, host of a cable television show and copy writer for WHB and KMBZ radio. She has an undergraduate degree in journalism from Kansas State University and studied meteorology at the University of Kansas.
